For ease of construction, I'm interested in making one of these for a small sauna. My concern is longevity though. Would wrapping the base with cob help? Any other tips?
Thanks!

The metal cans tend to burn out pretty quick. The beauty being that they're cheap and easy to replace.
A little bit of cob wrapping the very bottom might improve longevity somewhat.. Don't use too much, the cob will reduce the quick heat that you want for a sauna and that a pocket rocket can provide. Just a couple inches up the side, cover the bottom seam and not much more. It'll help.. Just don't expect miracles, the can will still burn out after a bit.

Thanks, Donkey! I have some metal pipe that's been taking up space. It's about the same diameter as a 5 gallon bucket...and thick....at least 1/8". Maybe I'll make a stove out of that.
