Working on a RMH design where the vent pipe will run underneath the Deep Water Culture bed of my Aquaponics system. During the winter the vent will heat the water before it falls into the fish tank. Then during the warmer months, the RMH will be shut off from the vent pipe via a damper and the vent pipe would then get cooler air from around the fish tank to assist in cooling the DWC bed.
The problem is, it's all in my head. I'm making this up as I go along. Literally. Has anyone done the damper/vent pipe switcher to swap venting hot air directly from an exhaust pipe to a thermal mass (then the exhaust pipe)? I'd like to also have the hot vent run into a thermal mass a bit like a propogating table for starting seeds and such.

Lets see if I can attach pics here...
A fairly decent shot of what I am talking about in regards to the DWC area. The RMH vent pipe will run to the end, turn a corner and come back, then vent up and away.

Messing around, trying to put into practice what I read.

Frankenstein heat riser. I'll look around to see what I can pack the space with. Have tons of Georgia red clay...
