i would add cob over all the fire bricks and ducts in order to create a sweet exterior like donkey's..

It might help for critiquing if you let us know where you are and what the building and site is like, what your needs for heating etc. are, and why you designed the unit the way you did and perhaps explain how you anticipate it working.

as per the new image. this is for new construction centered in basement. would be built with fire bricks no barrel. would have return air grills in first floor positioned around the perimiter empting into basement, no ducts. furnace room constructed with cinder block walls and brick floor over concreate with concrete backer board screwed into floor joists with seams sealed, maybe even dbl layer. supply side ducts would be positioned to feed heated air as close to center of house, short runs. outside temps down to -40 size of house.....?
questions...
would having the larger exhaust tapering to smaller create a problem? looking for larger surface area for heat transference.
i really dont know exactly how much heat is produced by a rocket furnace, so dont know how to "size" one.
how much condensation is created? would having the exhaust sloped upward slightly be enough to keep the condensation closer to the burn chamber thereby evaporating it better vs having it slope downward away from the burn chamber with an exit point for the condensation to drip from?
most likely more questions to follow. thanks in advance.
