Have you guys seen this? You can design your stoves and then hover them around in the space you want to build them in, among other things. If you want to check it out, download the app "augment" here: www.augment.com/, and scan this image. It will bring up a model on your screen that is projected into the image from your camera. In this way you can place the stove in your room. It's blowing my mind right now. Edit: I just realized many will be on one device and unable to scan. Here's a direct link: agmt.it/m/qP9iD4mO

How hard was it to make the model? I could use some sort of augmented reality to figure out how I'm going to organize my new workshop without having to shuffle a million tools physically around!

Easy, you just upload a 3d model file. They take a pretty wide range, I used .stl They have good tutorials here: www.augment.com/help/

I use google sketchup for the same thing, works well as I gut and redesign each room in my house, wife likes and understands the changes better than with just words...
