I am building a small house of straw bales and clay, and I would build a rocket with a Batch Box. I have followed this forum very much, but I have difficulty with the language. I found a Batch Boc design but with inches measures but I have difficulty passing from inches to cm. Mr. Peter Berg would be so kind to put ALL the batch box measures (for an 8-inch / 200mm system) in cm instead of just inches, because they are not very handy to move from inches in cm. Then I wanted to ask for a 200mm system and a Batch Box combustion chamber, which are the distances A and B in cm to keep in the simple design I did. With respect and esteem Adriano Neri an Italian who lives in Romania. To write in English I used Google translator.

Hi Adriano, welcome to the boards. At the batchrocket site, there's a table and spreadsheet showing all the measurements in inches to the left, and in millimeters to the right. The spreadsheet will calculate the numbers based on any riser diameter you type in. Please see batchrocket.eu/en/building#dimensionBy the way, one of the members of this forum offered to do a translation into Italian. Nothing is produced yet as far as I know, but it's in the pipeline.

Satamax many thanks for the answer, for example, "port dimension" is the transition from the combustion chamber to the rieser?

I can't speak Italian, but I can use google translate! ISA - Superficie interna (di uno spazio chiuso) CSA - Sezione trasversale (per esempio, della canna fumaria)

Adriano, I think you want to build a batch rocket with a barrel and a cob bench? Measurement A (commonly called the top gap) as large as you can achieve, absolute minimum 30 cm in my opinion. Measurement B (called the side gap) as large as possible with a minimum of 5 cm. The thing will keep working beautifully with a very large top gap, even 100 cm isn't a problem at all. Give the thing space, it will reward you for that.
Bulbius, this guy need an Italian translation urgently, are you able to start the process in the near future?

Jes, i want to build a batch rocket with a barrel and a cob bench. Thank you, Mr Peter Berg, for your answer. I understand this: 1) that the measure "A" of the design I made can be 30 cm minimum but it can also be 40 cm, 50 cm. Important larger than 30 cm. 2) Measure "B" must be at least 5 cm but may also be larger, 10 cm, 20 cm. Up here I understood well? Can you answer me? Do you think that a specialist is recommended? Thank you for your response and thanks for the patience you gave me.

So far, you understand correctly. A specialist? Maybe someone who'd built a batch rocket succesfully could help you out. Unfortunately, I don't know of any experienced builder in Romania, the closest is the Czech Republic, his name is Radek Stastny.

Hi Adriano Just in case you started your construction I'd like to tell you that in Romania you may buy a cast iron doors which size suite the rocket firebox pretty well. Here it is. if you feel like sharing information about your strawbale construction here is the proper thread on this forum. Where in Romania are you based? If you need a tip urgently in the topic of either Rocket or Straw bale drop me a private message (PM) in your language but only after the 4th of May as now i'm out to spaces with neither internet nor GSM range

Mr. Peter Berg I think I explained to you badly, I was asking her, that she is a specialist for her advice, which I think is the best distance "A" and "B" ??. Thanks for the answers, Adriano.
