hi all long time since i've entered but we tried something and i thought to show u mabe someone allready tried this but i asked peter and he said he didnt so - www19.zippyshare.com/v/kkUJeIT4/file.htmli dont have a testo (yet) so unless i drug the dragon here again if someone is tring this with a testo please be kind tם shere. what i did see - harder to over fuel!! very clean high temps - 680 top of the riser 7" jtube!! - but it is feramic fiber riser all the way. (paper but ofcorse vacumeforming is beter) so not sure this is the reason few things that might be interesting - can it stable the burn? could we lower the riser? ? making a riserless j??? all the best adiel

Adiel, I downloaded the drawing and as far as I can see there isn't a narrow port between firebox and riser.

I have experimented with a "port" for cook stoves and did not see any advantage, rather the contrary.
If a stove is formed around tubes: With round tubes a "port" forms unavoidable if the horizontal tube is not cut to fit against the vertical one.
Wood on the Philippines is eighter wet, rotten or both. Not a good precondition for burning. Maybe the 3" and 4" stoves were just to small to take advantage. Without a "port" the stoves performed great under the given conditions.

I did it too before this summer. I think this is the key for a riser-less clean J the ramhorns will clean it within 1 foot and the chimney will make the suction. no ugly barrel anymore.
