During last month I slowly ploughed through the mammoth task of filling this site. The idea is to make it as complete as possible, with descriptions, pictures and downloadable drawings in SketchUp format. The site is bi-lingual, which means the Dutch version is filled first and translated into English next. The core design is now under a Creative Commons license, the only provisions I make is Attribution and ShareAlike. Which means everyone is allowed to use the information for themselves or others, also for commercial purposes as long as they mention my name as the designer. In practice, this isn't any restriction of the open source idea, rather the contrary. I'd give up most of my rights officially and voluntarily. Of course, there will be people who keep their enhancements or variants for themselves. I don't care, it isn't decent of them but I won't sue anybody about it. I am 70 years old now and I like to spent the rest of my years with updating this resource and doing experiments now and then. Everybody who's build a variant or developed a succesful enhancement is invited to deliver drawings, descriptions and whatever. When it's a real enhancement I'll place it on the website, attributions and all. Only open source contributions under the same license will be accepted. Just a couple of minutes ago I uploaded the introduction and first chapter. I am doing the translation myself so when you see strange sentences or typos I would be glad someone tells me. New chapters, corrections and additions will appear regularly, I'll announce those here. In order to keep discussions and corrections of the articles separate I'll open a new thread in the "Rocket Stoves for Heating" section. So please don't place questions and so forth in this thread, one exception being compliments, of course. Here's the link straight into the English version: batchrocket.eu/en/

Hello Peter,
I salute your dedication to making this technology available to all! Would you need a french translation, eventually?

Thanks Matt, glad you like the initiative.
Jacobus, a French translation would be fun to have but I think it wouldn't be meaningful this year. The site is in full development now, nearly every day there's something added or changed. I'll keep in mind there's scope for more languages and I'll contact you when I think it would be time to implement it.

Hi peter, that is a very very nice work you've been doing ! I've spent a lot of time digging the threads in the board as I was trying to understand and build the batchbox. Now with your wesite, it will be much easier to get detailed information.. thanks ! Here in france I've noticed a nice interest on mass heaters and I've seen many people also interested by the batchbox, but most of the time they just don't speak english. So it would be nice to have a french translation of your website ! French is my native language and i have some experience with technical english to french translation, so I would be pleased to translate the website in french if you think it's a good idea.

Hi yasintoda, thanks for the compliment. Looks like that French translation is likely to appear, you are the second volunteer. In my mind, bi-lingual is already quite ambitiously but more languages would mean more people could access this information. Maybe it would be a good idea you contact Jacobus and work out a plan to do much of the translation during next winter? The whole site is in full development now, doing two translation jobs simultaniously would be asking for chaos. So, thanks for the proposal and I'll come back to it when time is ripe.

Hi Peter,
This is great work! The forum is full of very useful information, but for a first time builder it's very overwhelming to try to gather all the information. Having everything in one place and up to date will definitely help a lot of people.
It's great that you also officially made it open source, using the legal status and protection that comes from the Creative Commons will protect this design and the collaborative community around it.

As of now, the chapter "How to build and what to use" is completed. Proof reading by Terry and doing corrections remains, tomorrow I'll start with the section "Core designs".
At the bottom of the "Introduction" page I added a flag counter. I am very curious where all the viewers are located.

Yes Peter, you're right about the translation -- we'll wait for the website to be ready before starting another translation ! I hadn't seen the comment of Jacobus, sorry for the redundancy ! Many thanks again !!

I will come back to the people who suggested to assist in translation. This'll widen up the scope, not me being the sole editor. I would like that.

As of today, I finished translating the "Core designs" chapter. From now on, I will concentrate on the last and probably the largest chapter "Applications". But I need to write it in Dutch first so it will be a while before I'll announce a new addition to the English section.

Bell theory is added to the "Applications" chapter and changed a couple of times. I expect it to be finished now. batchrocket.eu/en
