is it possible to take the secondary air from inside the barrel? what the pressure differences? enough oxygen?

Short answer: not a chance. The whole thing is operating in under-pressure so it would suck air in. The reason why small leaks doesn't emit smoke.

Shilo,
I think the "air" inside the barrel would (and should) have so little free oxygen left in it that to inject it into the port would be pointless.
That said, I do think it might be worth while to somehow pipe fresh air through the inside of the barrel/manifold (being careful not to restrict the flow of flue gas) as a way of preheating before injection. Through some sort of simple heat exchanger to get it hot as possible.

Shilo have you tested your theory yet? The port is like the throat of a venturi. Suction there should be stronger.

there is a lot of oxygen. too much in fact. but I think it's impossible because the pressure in the barrel is too low.
