Ok thanks Andy and Mr.Berg!
Last question, are the bells must be equal size or they should be decreasing sizes that I guess the second and third bells have less heat to extract than the first one?

^^Merci Max! Today I went at the refractory product warehouse.42 000square foot of bricks, castable, insulating and many orher products... I was like a kid in a candy store. I bought castable bags, ceramic blanket and ceramic fiber board. I made a Raku kiln tonight out of 2" ceramic blanket and a dog cage that was laying for some time so I can heat properly my next mold. It just misses the propane burner and the digital thermometre, I ordered on the internet,I should receive next week.

You definitely come from the tattoo artist mind set, It has to be perfect, if the first drawing / design is not perfect, draw / do it again...

I fired up that raku kiln today. I followed the manufacturer procedure wich is : I did not push the cooking more than 1300F as time began to be very cold here and ice was beginning to form on the propane tank.It affected the performance of the weed burner. I looked in the kiln thru the exhaust, the mold looks flawless without cracks.I will wait a day or two before removing from the kiln to let it cool down slowly.

Here's a picture of the beast. I noticed his two tone color, maybe I did not quite mix well, the mixture was perhaps a little too dry. However I think it's just an appearance default or the worst would happened during cooking.

Ah, Nice! You don't think the 2 tone is due to heat dispersion/ dry out? What about the back side? I dig the set up, really cool! Eric VW

Thanks Eric!
It has been cooked on a 12hrs period, I suppose that it ain't supposed to have any water/humidity left in it yet. As for the back side, will see tomorow, it was still a bit too hot to handle, plus the fact that I have difficulty to move it by my self

On my 6" batch box the casting was all the same colour, inside and out.
I skimmed one side with a fire cement slurry to give it a smoother finish. This has lasted well & stood up to the heat and the knocks from loading with wood etc.

You have many trick in your bag! Your word confirm I probably do not mix well enough. Ill try to do it better for the other half! There are plenty of little details to pay attention! Live and learn I guess!

Alex, i might follow you soon. Tho i'm no caster. I've found some round schiedel refractory tubing in 220mm. 4 50CM elements plus insulation and the pozzolanic concrete blocks which go around; for 100€. Still, my problem is the mass! I can't find a way for making a 12m² bell on the cheap. plus, i'd realy like a bell like lopezlabs test! heatkit.com/research/2009/lopez-rocket.htmPlease my friends! If you have an idea! Share, please!

Salut monsieur Max! I'm going to make a bell on 2 level. There is a refractory product warehouse near my place. I think this type of masonry heater is relatively affordable compared to a contraflow or soap stones mass heater..
I shopped firebricks on alibaba, prices are pretty amazing but the problems remain the shipping.
So I fear not being able to be very useful in your project.

Max, have you no access to earth? Make adobes!Compressed Earth Blocks might be crisper with their sharp corners, but old-fashioned adobes can be made with no more equipment than this:
