Two effects: First the smaller temperature difference which is a negative effect. Second the reduced heat absorption by the bench and barrel and whatever you have there, which is on the plus side.
It's anybody's guess which of these is the strongest. My opinion: the stove would be very reluctant to start, much more so than before. But once coming up to temperature I think the problems are over.
But why on earth would you like to fire a stove when it's 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit) outside?

well - the box got to 850 c and its still not running as i would like it to. and the chinmey is at 55 max (its an 8 meter of insulated chimney outside of the house).
and thats because i'm making it for a client and he wants to see it works

My guess: the temperature difference is still too little. Outside temp 30 C and 55 C inside the exhaust is 25 C difference. No wonder the stove won't run happy. Nothing wrong with the chimney, when outside temps are around 5 or 10 C it's still marginal. A differential of 60 C would be sufficient, better have it at 80 C. So your bench is probably too long or not covered yet, losing too much heat this way.

I agree with Peter, and I've experienced the same when using too much radiator with a batch. It will slow to the point where it's just not burning full out, which results in lower stack temps, which contributes to slower gasses, and you are stuck in a downward spiral. Exhaust needs to be HOT to rush things through the firebox. I've seen the photos, so I know there is not much option for a shorter bypass, but that would be my first choice of solutions.
I have a long system outdoors, which after long periods of rain can put a lot of drag on the exhaust as it cools the gasses so much, and since it is a cooking stove I use it when it is warm out and it can be very difficult to get started in certain conditions. I can overcome this by putting a fan in the exhaust and running the stove at full burn for about 30 minutes or so with the fan pulling. This keeps the gasses moving through the system such that the thing heats up all the way to the chimney, and once the whole run is warm it runs just fine on it's own.
If I were in your shoes, and trying to prove that a new system would run once finished, I would cover the exposed bench runs with at least a few inches of cob so they are not shedding heat so quickly, and run the thing with a fan in the exhaust until everything was warm and mostly dry. Once there, it should stay running without the fan. If it can run fine when warm in hot weather it will fine in the winter when the air is cold and the mass is continually warm. If it can't run without the fan when the stove/mass run/exhaust is warm, you have a problem.

why I can't add files here? Well, there's no space anymore for the files. Proboard give an "allowance" in file storage. When this is reached, there's no more space. The one i use lately is hostingpics. Works all right.

Max, from the t-shirts I'm guessing Peter is in Israel with Shilo and Adiel. I now know what a falafel is :-)
For hosting pictures I use Photobucket. Each file has preconfigured hyperlinks you can copy to your clipboard and paste directly into the BBCode page to display either original or thumbnail sized pictures. I use thumbnails to save on bandwidth - not everyone has a superfast Internet connection! If you want to see the full-size photo you can click on the picture to open the album in Photobucket.

Gentlemen, Thank you for posting your findings! I had a couple questions: 1) In your final build, it would appear you have got rid if the third afterburner chamber. Are you back to using just the 2 chambers (more like Matt Walkers design)? 2) In one of the videos you said that the first portal is "near csa". Are you talking 95%? 90%? 3) I could not get any of the zippy share links to work. If you have any current drawings to re-post, that would be great!
Thank you for all the research you guys have posted!
