Hi guys here is my last build. Its a 20cm/8'/ rocket mass heater "J"style with dryer above the manifold/the warmest place behind the barrel/.This build was a large collaboration with the owner of the place. For the brick work i was influenced by the work of Lars Helbro.

Radek, again, amazingly beautiful work! I absolutely love your heaters, and it's so nice to see a J heater done in such a refined fashion. I'd love to see the detail on your feed cover area. It looks like you have air control integrated into a feed lid, or collar. I can't quite see it. Beautiful work as always. Did you really build all three of these this summer? Amazing.

Nice work! Could you show that feed door image? I've seen it on the Facebook Rocket Stove page but I think it should be here too. Thanks!

hi so i been ask to add the pics of the door for feed to the forum so here it is.The door has a fire glass so you can see the fire on the ceiling and there is an sliding air control on both sides /the wooden handles/.All doors im using on my heaters are made by a friend who is a metal smith ,i design them a he makes it.Next week i plan to go to that place so ill take more pics with some details. Matthewwalker Thx for your nice comments its a pleasure to know people like the design of my heaters,i got hooked on those heaters and on work with cod and clay. And no i havent build all three of them this year ,only this one and the huge batch box you can see in other link. The one with oven on top of the barrel is already in use for last two winters. But i wanted to post the heater after finishing it . Talltuk Thx too and keeping my finger cross for your build. And Donkey again its my pleasure someone like you with so many experience in building and designing RMH likes my work. Ill will keep adding more pics it just normally im on reaaally slow connection,so it usually takes a few days for me to reply.Love ,Peace,Happiness Radek Attachments:

could you give some general details on the recipe for the mortar used to grout the bricks? Beautiful work!

birchcreek7 the mortar for the brick work was just 1 part clay to 3 parts sand and we have added some flour paste to each batch.I cant say how much flour paste but i guess 1 liter of flour paste/ 1/4 gal / for 1 wheel barrow of clay/sand. I do it by feeling. You should know ,when adding the flour paste to clay ,it darkens the clay when dry.

Thank you Radek, I have worked with this recipe on plastering strawbale walls before, just didn't know if there were precautions you took to make sure that the clay had good silica content or other things for high temps, also I think I read somewhere your description of how you created a slip joint between the barrel and the cob could you link my to that?

I usually create the expansion joint by gluing some cardboard paper on to the barrel and than cobbing over it. The cardboard paper burns out and creates joint in between the barrel and cob.

Curious.. With a burnt-out expansion joint, what keeps the joint from leaking?

Superb stove. Could you use glass rope? That will nearly seal and will allow movement.
