I'd like to make this board more useful. Your suggestions can help. I'm open, so let me have it. I'll do my best to incorporate your ideas. Just keep it simple and I will do what I can.

I don't know about the appropriateness, but perhaps you could move a lot of the off topic later posts in the bucket forms thread to another thread with another title? Just a thought.

Umm... Good thought. I won't do it right now but will try to figure it out later. The controls on this board are pretty simple.. Pro'lly need 'ta copy the thread and delete the excess.. Would a looser chat area be helpful? A place to vet some of the chattier, less on point stuff? Yea's, nay's ??

The main thing that you need to do (in my opinion), is set out the thread groups differently...
How I don't know exactly.. lol Part of it I think is confusion over the experimental label for the one.
Pretty much everything we are all doing or going to be doing is just that, experimental, (the reason you named the board 'the Experimenters Corner"?
Chat threads that are made for off topic things, are a good way for people to clash... I would prefer the whole board was kept as on topic as possible... there are many places people can chat if they wish already.
As for moving or deleting posts, if you start into that, you will have a never ending job of doing it... if something isn't appropriately on topic for the board, say so in the thread and then consider moderating specific peoples responses if you find yourself continually bothered by what they say...
Seems I obviously know which posts are being referred to, I will point out that they are about the appropriate topic, if not exactly the most cheerful type of answers...

I had this very thought about five minuets after I posted, then turned off the computer ta do something else. Hmm.. The experiments group was intended for a place to put WIP's..(works in progress). With an experimental edge.. Though it's content is rather all over the board.. The others were intended as a tips and tricks, idea share and Q&A zones.. I'm totally open to a more sensible arrangement.

On other boards that I have been on, a simple click on the poster's name under "Last Post" took you directly to the last post (if for example you are following the thread) of the thread so you could read the last and most recent post within that thread. Why waste time by taking the reader to the personal information of the last poster? Who cares unless it is wanted? Take me to the last most recent post by clicking on the most recent posters name! Know what I mean? PM me if not.

a way to get the current posts in email would be good for me. i don't spend a whole bunch of time online so it would keep me up to date to have a journaling option

I like your suggestion, just got no way to implement it. And, uh.. Ernie.. Same goes for you, bud..

Good site..... However why are the posts listed oldest first? On an active topic you have to page back to the newest. It just seems counter-intuitive to me.

Umm.. 'Cause that's the way it comes set up... All free with very few adds and whatnot, juss like that. I ain't THAT BBS savvy, just took this baby out of the box and went with it. If i I get a groundswell of requests for newest first posts, I'm sure I can change it....

This does indicate a lot of interst.... Ok. I'll try that. I'm not sure I like the way it's gonna arrange itself there, but I'm game to try it. Maybe there's a better way to organize this whole shoot'in match.. ??
