Greetings! Thanks to everyone for such generous sharing and support! I am building a 8" system size batch style rocket mass heater. I have a question about how much of the horizontal run can be a bell. I have build several rocket stoves this style, the longest horizontal run being 30' (15' long bench, with two runs of pipe in it), and it works great. The owner of the upcoming project wants to heat a 30' bench. I feel that if it just has one course of flue pipe running through the bench, it wont be as warm as ideal. We talked about doing some of the bench as a bell, but then I fear not having enough draw. I have done two benches with bells that have been successful, but they were much shorter. Any advice or experience with this would be very appreciated, Thanks!

Hello & welcome to the form. The length of a bell/ Bench is a function of the maximum internal surface area - ISA . I've been told that long and low is a good way to go. This site batchrocket.eu/en/ is a good place to start. As for pipes inside a bell I'm not sure if they are necessary? Hopefully someone else will be along soon to add to this but it's a quiet time on the forum.
