Oy weh. I need advice. I’m prototyping a dsrmh with an insert for a char-can ( poo-san, compost toilet interoperable), but something is obviously off as the test fires have all been smoky 😞 The entire thing is made from firebrick entombed in refractory cement, with a lime veneer. So here are some questions: 1. Is there flexibility in the proportion of the upper box to the lower box? the upper box is larger to accommodate the char-can. 2. Is a tall flue mandatory for getting a good rocket-y draw? 3. Is the position of the port critical? In this case it’s perpendicular to the front (longest dimension). TIA!

1. there's no flexibility and upper box shouldn't have anything in it while stove runs 2. no 3. it's possible, look up sidewinder on batchrocket.eu
