I already had time to do the design with the short bench. It's not the final design, but it's a little better than the sketuch put up the other day. What do you think?. (Click on image to enlarge)

Hello perikoooIt's very nice that you made a course with Edu ! I understand now better how you knew the russian style heaters ! The last design is the best in my opinion ! You don't need to worry about the thermal mass.. the heater without the bench is already heavy enough. I don't think the impact of the 1 meter shorter bench will be important. The last square meters of surface area extract a relatively small amount of energy. About the air intake, my last words : you will reduce the air flow because of the restrictions so the combustion will be poor because of that. With your unique setup, you cannot make a good tuning of the air intake without a combustion analyser and some experience in the combustion of those heaters.. if you keep going on with that idea, you would make a better heater by using a completely different design.. not the B28V2.
