I am wondering if you could share what kind of material your riser is made of. I am looking into this:
I guess the english translation would be Calcium Silicate plates?...

I have 1" / 25mm calcium silicate board as insulation behind my firebox casts. It claimed to be rated to 1000C. I once tried using it as the roof of a firebox in an experiment, it popped, cracked and split and fell to bits on the first fire.
