I'd go for the maximum power, so maybe insert 150mm SS chimney into the existing one and there is still some space for perlite in the corners.

Hmm, still haven't decided on the size of the chimney insert. Had thought that it would allow me to build a more powerful stove if necessary in the future. We have high wind at times and extreme gusts. Does anyone know what effect oversizing the chimney would have on the stove during gusts of wind? Also planning to put in a draught limiter.
