Thanks for posting this! I've been noodling in this direction for my next set of experiments, but hadn't started shopping around yet. Matt, any comment on what is closest to the stuff you have been building with? They have 1900º, 2300º LD grade 16#, 2300º HD grade 24#, and 2600º Zirconium.

I prefer the low density board. You can also try this distributor. www.firebrickengineers.com/ You will have to call and get a quote for the board you want, but I imagine the price will be significantly lower. |

Poking around these sites I am wondering... is ceramic fiber board just ceramic fiber blanket saturated with rigidizer and cured? I have a bunch of blanket left over, wonder if that would work. Anybody ever try that?
