Thanks, Vortex. Guess you're right, time to look beyond Google. They have consolidated power, and now the phase of exerting control seems to be getting more and more prominent. Oh well, such is the cycle of life, I suppose.

Hello Brian/DC, This is looking soo cool! It really is cooking like on a gas grill. I was thinking that the fumes from the burning wood be too dirty but this is great. You are calling it a 'J-style' burner. Any chance of some more pics of the burning chamber? It is just looking like a square box that you put the wood in and take the heat riser/chimney off the same box, am I right? None of all the 1/2/3 proportions and trip wires and that? You talk about insulated fire bricks... they look like AAC/light weight concrete blocks to me, are they? Just 8 of them. And is it only the tile at the base of the burn chamber or is that insulated? How?
And how is it doing now? Did you get any more BBQs into it? What about the pizza part of the experiment? Looking forward to more pics!

is it possible for parts of ceramic wool to peel off and get into the food? Hey Orange. I got some rigidizer to coat the blanket with, so it shouldn't be an issue.
