This tank came with a lid yet thin and flimsy. I was thinking of using rubber U channel to fit over the tank lip. And then reinforcing the lid by cutting a pc. of 3/4'' plywood to lay on top and hang over past the stainless lid by a couple of inches. I could weld tabs to the sides of the tank near the top and drill through the tabs and plywood lid to bolt it down, making it removable.

Well I lowered the tank ,it is 2 foot from the hot tub. Just need to work on the lid.

I finally got it fired up the water temp is 60 and the outlet on the heater coming into the tub is 80, getting dark here. I used a pc of 3/4 ply. to lay on top of the stainless lid, and used ratchet straps for now, it is holding. The galvanized pc of pipe is to keep the heat off the strap in back to close to the stove pipe. A pic with the door open. Just went and checked and the outlet temp is 90.

Excuse me for asking. Where's the rocket? This question raises another, namely what defines a rocket? Is it intensive burning of gas up to a peak and then falling off? Is it having a heat riser? Is it maintaining that rocket sound during a quantified percentage of the burn?

My personal definition is: Having a heat riser with thorough mixing (a burn tunnel or anything that causes cavitation of fluids).

Umm.. I believe, it's the heat riser. A short, well insulated chimney INSIDE the stove.
It's why I don't think that pocket rockets are "Rocket Stoves", though they share some features in common.

I finally welded 8 brackets around the top edge for hold downs and the leaking seems to have stopped. When the fire is going I can really feel the suction on the bottom hose in the tub, the theromosyphone works great.
