It looks like you have plenty of draft; if I ran mine "wide open" I'd invariably have some smoke feeding out the top/front.
I did add another 3' section to my chimney which made a marked draft improvement. It looks like extending my chimney is another project for me to do!

Hi everybody!
A little update.
The other night, it was cold, and i tried to overload it. Filled up with pallet wood, no secondary air, firebox of the wrong dimensions.
Nope, zilch, not even the faintest trace of smoke. This is with crummy pallet wood, which had started rotting. I haven't tried anything else yet.

You guys make me smile.
Love the sound of the crackling fire. That is going to get me through the work day.

Shilo - Is the Israeli smoke as expensive as the holy dirt you mentioned a while back? Holy smoke!

Since the connecting pipe between the barrel stacks is a new shiny piece, (in the video) you can see the oxidization colors form as it heats up. The pipe itself looks to be in the 400-500 F range..

Donkey, sorry to contradict you. But the pipe is several years old stainless, which had been used as the outer layer of the heat riser in a previous build. And it's real dirty. Light is from a halogen site spotlight. So i'm dubious about the collor change
