Dear All.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I really enjoyed this project. It was build as a part of a workshop where we combined the profesional stuff and begginers. It is intented to stay for a while, but i am quite far from it and i cannot make any good tests... i will have to spend at least three days with it to see how it performs... Also i lack the flue gas analyzer to really see what is going on:(
Right now after some minor feedback i know that it needs lot of wood to be heated full (although no one really weighted the wood:)... For sure a second bell would be much better for the efficiency...
Anyway pros, told me they never seen such a simple heater which has such a low temps at the chimney:) Now if i would be doing it again i would give smaller firebrick... now i used 6,5 cm , and it would be enough to give 3,5cm firebrick split, together with 6cm clay filled tile...
Mortar for the tiles is just clay and sand, and for firebricks is fireclay with chamote powder.
I think that the regular ceramic tiles could be used as well... Then the heater would have to be two skinned... Firebrick core/cardboard for expansion/another layer (perfectly 3 cm chamote board) and then ceramic tiles on top of it... glued with some special refractory glue for being sure they will stay...
Ok. Next project will be a hypocaustum style heater... With hot air distribution system for the upper rooms.... with the air form outside... oh boy what a challenge:)

I believe there's a tile maker in Canada. Somehow, I'm failing to google her.. Here's a link to a magazine article about her. And another to her website.
Missed this post. Here is a video about her. I'm pretty sure Jessica taught a workshop at the MHA national event last year because I was pissed that I couldn't go.

Hi Robert! Very nice stove! What temperature do you have at the exit of the stove? Did you partially fill the inside of the stove with bricks to get more mass and more inertia? Benoit
