"We must be the change we wish to see in the world."
Spending time in the city gets me off track and I was reminded of how little things make a big difference. I am off to do some magic in the outside world.

Alex, this will make you laugh. I tried to let a woman get in front of me in a checkout line. She refused. I wanted to say, "But I'm on a mission!". *laughing*

Daryl, Funny how people are, isn't it?! I strive to let cars go, hold doors, etc; the most successful way(person to person) I've found is to make a big smile and, overly loud-like, say, "go ahead, How are YOU," and they're shocked! They can't do anything but remember their training, and after an awkward smile, they blurt out, " Well, thank you!" It's like waving someone on at a 4 way stop sign- sometimes they wave back, sometimes, they don't! I wonder quietly to myself, how much longer can this country, which my grandfather & my dad fought to protect, succeed when everyday people have no clue about common decency and manners??? Very sad... Eric VW
P.S. My step-grandfather died this morning, and the family is coming apart at the seams! Just another piece of the American puzzle; still, tho, sad how one group(family, for crying out loud) can't come together to see the big picture! Enuff said...

Sorry for your loss, Eric. Don't focus on the negative and do what you can do.
