Thermal properties of concrete with various aggregates Hi Karl I have read Lars Wadsö's paper before. I will try to get permission to post some of the doctoral thesis I was given "THE DEVELOPMENT OF A HIGH PERFORMANCE CONCRETE TO STORE THERMAL ENERGY....." It will be nice to compare the two in both methods and mixes. David

It is pretty simple:
If one wants high capacity with rather low mass and volume one needs to tune the mixture towards a rather low conductivity. PCM materials like paraffin pellets may be helpful. Yurts are movable and the mass should be too.
A power station plays a very different game and will tune to a rather high conductivity to allow fast charge discharge cycles. Mass and volume have only a minor importance
