Yum! My wife and I just tried our first taste of Amish friendship bread(more cake-ish than bread), the starter has been tended to for 10 days... Have you any experience with this, Daryl? You're handed a ziplock of starter which eventually yields 4 more starters and some to make up a few loaves or muffins, whatever. Pretty tasty stuff! It's kind of a perpetual machine.... My wife makes a pnut butter pie that makes mousse get up and run away crying!!!! I would have included a pic, but I might have tried to eat the picture too!!! Eric VW

Since the chocolate peanut butter ice cream pie turned out so well, I decided to try the mini-cheesecake recipe late last night when I couldn't sleep. Instead of using vanilla wafers for the base, I ground up shortbread cookies and mixed them with a little butter. The topping was a few slices of strawberries from my garden. I am very surprised at how well the minis tasted. The reviews are spot on. The mix ended up being too much for 12 cups so I will have to adjust the ratios a little next time. www.landolakes.com/recipe/2117/easy-mini-cheesecakes

BACON!!!!
Bacon onion rings right off the grill
Wouldn't you know it...the skies opened up and the sun came out. Good day.

That looks so yummy!
Alex, you should post pictures of your bread oven in the "Other Types of Stove" forum. People are always coming on here looking for ideas and such.

Built a redneck tandoor with red bricks, mud for mortar, and fire bricks. Yeah, it ain't pretty. Ha ha. And yes, it took me about two seconds. Attempted to smoke some country style ribs. I am such a newbie - Learning how to balance the smoke to get a cool bark. This time was too little. I managed to create a mini smoke ring. Oh well...next time. They were still awesome though!
