Hello experimenters ;-) Im new here. Had a crazy rocket waterheater a couple of years ago, and try to make it better. What I plan to do is use 2 old water heaters as the bell. They have a big tank 200 liters inside and a cape or secondary chamber on the outside.
Its completely siphon and pressureless, so no explosions...
Here a few photoes. Would be nice to see what others have made... Photoes coming soon
Edit: I get an error when try to upload pictures, forum limit exceeded?

The forums picture hosting is full. You have to upload them elsewhere and link to them here. imgur.com/ seems to be the most popular and reliable site for free picture hosting that allows 3rd party linking.

Your link is not working from imager. After you upload your image to imgur, move your mouse over the photo and there is a drop down arrow. Click on "Get Share Links" and copy from BBC Code. You will have to delete the html tags and have just the http address. Thats how I do it. There may be an easier way but I know that works.

are you planning a tank of water atop of the bell in the photos?

My plan is to put one more tank, like the one you see, on top, as bell. And away from the rocket, a hot water tank of 4 or 600 litres.

Is the top tank also copper? Beautiful metal, looking forward to the pictures, I hope the hottest part withstands max temperatures.

No, none of them is copper, Its steel painted with copper like primer. Several people thought the same ;-) So I shouldnt have problems with it getting weak. I wonder if the water in the jacket will take heat away quickly enough, so heat isnt lost up the chimney. I had a J-pipe rocket with one of these tanks around the steel-pipe chimney some 2 meters above the riser bottom. Worked quite well, with temp in top of chimney around 120 degrees C.

A couple questions. Exhaust port in barrel is 12" (30cm) high 8" (20 cm) wide.
Riser is 5" Exh pipe 6" would it work?
Chimney can be any size, but I have 10" chimney I can use. We want same diameter chimney as we have riser, so 10" wouldnt work, would it? Lid is stainless steel, with insulation and "mirror" to minimize heat loss and warp... Pictures will follow shortly.
Thank for any advice ;-) John

I would say that the paint or primer should be removed as it would probably off gas when it is heated. I know a 5" system can work with a 6" chimney but I can't say anything about 10". I would think it can work but maybe not the best? Is it insulated?

Thanks Travis. The rocket will stand in a shed, so its ok with the smell. Rocket and chimney will be insulated and the water used for floor heating and radiators inside. Chimney is stainless steel, double wall.

10" double walled stainless? That has got to be rather valuable. I would try it out, and if it failed, I might sell it to pay for what I needed. On the other hand I might rebuild to match this mighty chimney!
